General Information For Coaches

1. You may choose a team name. Please keep the name tactful.

2. Choose a team manager (better known as team parent)! This person will make arrangements for half-time fruit snacks and after the game drinks and snacks. They will also plan your end of the season party.

3. Please make sure your Kid Safe form is filled out and signed prior to turning back in. All other league volunteers, make sure you have filled out your volunteer application and signed the back of it.

4. Please remember you are responsible for your parent's conduct at the soccer field. Reminder: no one (not even coaches) may stand behind the goal line.

5. Western Branch will not tolerate any negative coaching. Cheering is acceptable only if conducted in a positive (encouraging) manner.

6. We ask that all coaches stop by the main table or concessions at your game site either before or after your game to see if any literature or important information is set aside for you.

7. Please contact your players as soon as possible, even if you do not intend to start practice soon. This will help keep phone calls to the League form concerned parents to a minimum.

8. Let's remember we are all here for our children. We are all volunteers trying to do the best that we can to provide an enjoyable soccer program. The bottom line is they are playing to have fun, who won the game is forgotten by the next day!

9. During the game, Coaches and players will be on one side of the field (in the Technical Area) and parents will be on the other side. Coaches and players will stay in their assigned technical area for the entire game- no switching technical areas at the half-time break (exception: U-6 and U8, where-as the parents may be with the team).

10. Not everyone will be happy with the schedule; Just remember, a lot of time went into putting a schedule together to meet the needs of each league. But not every need could be met.

As Commissioner of Region 1292, and on behalf of the league Presidents I would like to thank you for the time and caring that you as coaches are about to give to our children. Ishmael Ray Franklin - Commissioner
